I. The Pressure of the Problem (Verse 10a: "Why tempt ye God...")
- Protesting God’s Plans: The attempt to question or challenge the revealed will of the Holy Spirit.
- Proving Human Pride: The inherent desire to add personal work to God's divine work.
II. The Portrait of the Problem (Verse 10b: "...to put a yoke upon the neck...")
- Placing a Penalty: The act of imposing obligations where Christ has granted liberty.
